Zero Tolerance

The practice considers aggressive behaviour to be any personal, abusive and/or aggressive comments, cursing and/or swearing, physical contact and/or aggressive gestures.

The practice will request the removal of any patient from the practice list who is aggressive or abusive towards a doctor, member of staff, other patient, or who damages property.

All instances of actual physical abuse on any doctor or member of staff, by a patient or their relatives will be reported to the police as an assault.

Missed Appointments (DNA’s)

More than 150 appointments per month are classified as ‘Did Not Attend’ (DNA) where the patient did not turn up for the appointment and did not contact the surgery in advance to cancel/change the appointment and results in a lot of wasted Doctor & Nurse time.

By not phoning in and cancelling unwanted appointments we are not able to offer these appointments to another patient to use.

Please always ensure you cancel your appointment in good time if you know you cannot attend – tel 01773 602707 – we have an answerphone facility for you to cancel your appointment, without having to wait to speak to a receptionist.
