| Adult Carers
If you support a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental ill health or an addiction then you are a Carer. To register for support and to access our full range of services please complete our secure online referral form Once you are registered you can choose how and where you access support. These include but aren’t limited to; a place that suits you, like the comfort of your own home, booking onto one of our Carers Clinic for a face to face session with one of our Carers Support Workers or coming along to one of our Cuppa and Chats to meet other people who are caring. You can also access our full range of services including training, workshops and wellbeing sessions. |
| Young Carers
If you are aged between 5 and 17.5 years old and care for a family member who has a disability, long- term physical illness, mental health difficulties or who misuse drug or alcohol then you are a Young Carer. Derbyshire Young Carers can support you by assessing your needs and offering tailor- made support to these needs. You might need one to one support to help with coping strategies around caring issues, or need the chance to meet other young carers via support groups or activities. |
| Young Adult Carers
If you are aged 17.5 and 25 years old and responsible for the care of another person with a long term serious health condition or disability, mental health difficulties, alcohol or drug addiction then you are an Adult Young Carer. Derbyshire Young Adult Carers can support with the managing of caring responsibilities, transition to higher education, sourcing funding and accessing Adult Carer Services.
