Online Access

As part of imposed contract changes on GP’s we have been asked to automatically provide our patients with access to their full medical record via the NHS app (and NHS website) if you have a suitable NHS login, from 31 October 2023. This will only apply to future (prospective) record entries and not historic data.

Jessop Medical Practice have taken active steps to safeguard your data and will only switch on access to records for those who ask us to, or for those who already have records access.

We are aware that not everyone will want access to their full record on the internet at this time, and some patients may have concerns about their personal medical records being made available on their smartphones or online, especially if other people have access to their devices.

If you would like to have access to your medical records from 31st October 2023 please inform us via reception and we will add you to a waiting list. We will then review your record and send you a SMS once access has been granted.

For more information about your online record visits the NHS digital website.

I already have full online access, will this change?

No, if you already have full online access, your access will remain the same and will continue to view your full record.

I have access to appointments and medication via online, can I also have access to my record?

Yes, please let us know at reception and access can be automatically added for any data added from 31st October. Alternatively, if you would like to view your full record, please request this via reception and by completing an Access to Medical Records form.

I do not want access to my records, do I need to do anything?

Please let us know that you do not wish to have access to your records. (your decision can be changed in the future)

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at
