Dear Patients,
From the 3rd of April we will be reverting back to a system similar to that which we had pre-COVID-19. You will now be able to book appointments in advance and have the choice of whether you prefer a face to face appointment or a telephone call. The appointments will be at a fixed time, including the telephone appointments. If you miss the appointment, you will have to rebook. We will however give you a window of half an hour before and after the time of telephone appointments. This will help in case your clinician is running behind. However, if this window passes and you have not received a call at the time of your appointment, don’t worry. We will call you as soon as possible. If we attempt to call twice in that window and we are unsuccessful, you will lose your appointment. So please make sure you have good signal and are available.
We will also be actively signposting you once you have contacted us if we feel that your query can be dealt with better by another professional. There are a lot of allied professionals that support us and may be the best option to deal with your query. A lot of them are specialists and they are usually better than us in their areas of expertise! They include First Contact Physiotherapists, Opticians, Podiatrists, Mental Health as well as Drug & Alcohol services. This will help us preserve GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments for those with more complex needs whilst making sure you see the right person at the first opportunity. Please help us make sure we are available for those who can only be dealt with by us.
Finally, for those that need a Home Visit, please try and contact us by 1030am at the latest otherwise we might not be able to see you on the same day .We only have a small window were clinicians can leave inbetween clinics to visit. This will give us time to plan and sort the appropriate clinician and visit for you.
